Takeover Radio is a charity operated community radio station broadcasting on 106.9 FM across to UK district of Ashfield and to the world on the internet.

The station is operated entirely by the charity Sutton Youth Radio LTD and specialises in training young people (ages 8-16) in the industry of radio and media, thus giving them experience in first hand presentation and production.

The station first began broadcasting in March 2010.

MEDIA TRAINING AND EDUCATION CENTRE
Takeover Radio offers training to children aged between 8 to 14 years old who want to take up a career in radio or media. The full training course lasts for 10 weeks and lessons cover everything from production to presenting.

After 10 weeks and having fully completed the course, the children then take up a place presenting on the Next Generation Show (Sundays 6pm to 8pm) before eventually moving on to present and produce their own show.

As well as this, Takeover Radio also has links with local education organistations and runs similar courses for children and teenagers involved in those organistations and groups.

ASHFIELD COMES FIRST
As a community radio station for young people of Ashfield, Takeover Radio makes sure that all news, events and talent from the local community is at the forefront of our station.

From reporting and broadcasting live at events such as Rainworth Family Fun Day to interviewing and supporting local organisations about fundraising events, we are there throughout it all.

Local bands and artists are very important to us as we give them as much support and promotion as possible on our playlist and our events.
